After a slow spring wedding season due to COVID-19, us and many other wedding vendors were feeling the urge to come out of hiding and make something beautiful. The Heritage Barn is not just about rustic, country style weddings. Yes, it does lend itself well to this theme but our goal for this shoot was to bring some glitz and glam to our space and show how versatile it really is! Ashley and Cathy of C & A Event Planning brought together two couples, two photographers and dozens of other vendors for our biggest styled shoot yet!
Embraceable Joy Photo
Emily of Embraceable Joy Photography was one of our talented photographers there to capture the day. Her style of darker and moodier photos really emphasize the romance of the space and between our couples. We love how they create a warm ambience in the barn and allow you to almost feel the love of these beautiful people. We'll start by exploring the styled shoot through her lens.
The Beauty Squad
Two real-life couples, Angela & Philip and April & Michael, were perfect for our double wedding shoot! The brides were both styled in gowns provided by Gee June Bridal and jewelry and headpieces were made by Christine Elizabeth Jewelry. Hair was done by Elissa Zehr and makeup by Makeup By Hilary. To complete the look, the couples' rings were provided by Skaneateles Jewelry.
All In The Details
Sarah of The Adirondack Ink totally nailed the wooden wedding invitations and other signage for this shoot. We LOVE how each piece is completely customizable and brings so much personality to the day. Jodi of Revival Rental really brought the space to life with multiple lounge setups and some glam shelving for a ceremony backdrop. She provided stunning furniture pieces for dessert tables and more and we love the retro vibes that were brought into the barn. The flowers and styling were all done by C&A Event Planning and we loved watching their vision come to life!

Nicole Weeks Photography
Nicole Weeks Photography has a distinct style of light, bright and airy photos that bring forward the sunshine and natural beauty of the day. The lighting and colors of her images just make you feel happy. The next sections will feature her photos from our styled shoot.
Double I-Dos
C&A Event Planning created two separate ceremony setups for our two couples. For Angela and Philip, we used a more traditional setup in the barn with sleek gold shelving adorned with bright, summertime florals. We love the simplicity of this look and the modern touch it brings to our 200 year-old barn. While the pews are a Heritage Barn staple for indoor ceremonies, Revival Rental provided the shelving to help bring this look together.
Aligning with the times, for April and Michael, we leaned into a smaller, more elopement-styled ceremony space utilizing the front doors of the Heritage Barn as the backdrop. Warming it up with a vintage rug, simple floral arrangements and some stunning calligraphy by The Adirondack Ink, we love how this all came together to show the versatility of our property.
Dining In Style
Candy machine table numbers and disco balls adorned the tablescapes of Angela and Philip's setup. The corals and yellows in the color scheme pop against the rustic wooden backdrop and the woodcut name place settings make a huge statement. A more classic table design was used for the second setup using golds, greens and pearl rimmed chargers. The Colgate Inn absolutely nailed the catering for this shoot, plating veal, salmon, salads and everything in between. We love working with local vendors and would definitely recommend looking into the Colgate Inn to cater your event at the Heritage Barn!
Ending On A Sweet Note
No wedding would be complete without the desserts! After a cotton candy champagne toast, Tail and Toppings served up ice cream and sundaes from both their vintage horse trailer and indoor ice cream cart. We love how they can adapt to any venue or vibe. To top it all off, two incredible cakes were provided by The Gingersnap Bakery.

Caught on Film
We always try to find real couples to model for us because you just can't beat the chemistry that makes for some incredible shots. The best part, Ashley of Moved by You captured the whole day on video! We are enchanted by these clips. Ashley's videos not only showcase all of the different features of the Heritage Barn property, but they make you feel like you were right there, experiencing the magic happen!
We want to thank all of the models and vendors that we had the opportunity to get to know and work with during this shoot! It was a very busy, 95° day in the middle of July and by the end of it, we were all quite exhausted... but without any 2020 weddings in sight and a whole lot of unknowns, we were all beyond thrilled to finally get back to business, work with new vendors, and create again! We had so much fun with this shoot and we are so excited to see what new themes will come to life at the Heritage Barn!
